I live in Seattle, and wear these at least 4 days a week. I purchased a cheaper pair of red rain boots at first, and after being very disappointed, I ended up buying these! These boots are amazing and well worth the money!
These boots are very cute and comfortable, but I only gave them a four star rating because the sizing is a little strange. the Hunter website said to order a size down if you wear a half size. Being an 8.5 I ordered a size 8, like Hunter suggested, but the boots fit big. They're not big enough to return and order a size 7. When wearing normal socks I feel my heel move up and down as I walk, but with thick socks the boots seem to be fine. I suggest trying the boots on in a store before buying online to get a better size guide,
This is my first rain boot purchase since my mom bought me "galoshes" as a kid. What a difference! I wear a size 9.5 medium width normally, though sometimes I have to wear size 10 (e.g., Prada). I'm 5'7", 140lbs, and have 15" calves. I ordered the red gloss original boots in sizes 9 and 10 since I wasn't trying them on in the store and I hadn't made this type of purchase before.
I was concerned that the boots would arrive with a brazen red-orange hue (how they appear on my monitor); however, they were a medium red...neither cherry nor orangish. Beautiful! As for sizing, 9 fit well in the foot and heel with a thumbs width allowance at the toe while wearing medium-weight knee socks. Fit was just right at the calf for wearing socks or tights, but jeans (even skinny jeans) would probably be a stretch to fit in these boots (and these boots do NOT stretch).10 fit loose in the foot and shaft. It felt sloppy and shifted a lot as I walked in them on my carpeted floor. So, Back to the store they go...
I also ordered Hunter adjustable gloss in burgundy, size 9. They haven't arrived yet. I'll post a review/comparison when they do. In the meantime, I have at least one gorgeous pair of rain boots to wear as the weather takes a turn.
