I've just bought my second pair of these, and so far they are holding up quite well! My first pair lasted 3 years, so I'm hoping this pair lasts a bit longer. I am 5'3", and I actually like how these boots go all the way up to my knee. I wear them when I am out walking my dog, and since we walk in fields in the rainy PNW, it's really helpful to have tall boots that keep out all the mud and water. While I am not a fan of the high shine, I prefer the feel of this material compared to that of the matte version--the high gloss rubber is more flexible, and I also think it fits my thinner calves better. The matte boots always seem too loose in comparison. These boots are definitely look good as a "fashion" wellington boot, but I definitely think they are great for light outdoors activity. If you are doing serious outdoor activities, I recommend looking for something a bit more durable.
