Make sure to order your actual size, and wear thick socks with insoles. Sorels have always been designed to fit everything you need for hard work in the cold and wet, so there's enough space for insoles and thick socks. I replaced the laces with elastic laces with a slip-clamp that are great for quickly getting my boots on and off, and I've been wearing them every day for three months now, through all sorts of weather.
This boot is wonderfully warm for extended periods outside in very cold weather. When the boots arrived I was not able to completely advance my foot into the boot past the forward area where the laces begin. Since the boot width seemed adequate from the outside, my husband used his fist to stretch that area from inside the boot, just enough to allow my foot to pass. I expect that area will stretch over time but for now I wear a very thin sock in order to slip my foot past that area of the boot.
I bought these a few weeks ago for my first Wisconsin winter. Ice fishing just didn’t go well in my old boots. Thank goodness for these new Sorels! My feet stay warm from the bottom up. I have awfully cold feet in general and it takes about 3 hours out in 20 degree weather for me to feel the cold in these - as compared to a half hour in my old LLbeans
I bought these because my husband raves about the brand. He won’t wear anything else and they last a long time. He had to buy a new pair because his 50 year old ones finally cracked at the bottom.
I’m glad I bought them. I love them. They are comfortable and keep my feet very warm even in 10 degree weather. I would recommend them to everyone. I wish I would have bought them sooner.
