great tights for the price
PostedNovember 17, 2010
I actually bought these for myself, rather than a child, even though I'm an adult. I just needed simple, reasonably warm white tights, and these were significantly cheaper than any adult size tights I could find, and since I'm small enough to wear these i didn't see much reason to pay more just so they'd be labeled as women's sizes rather than girls'.
I haven't worn them much yet, so I don't know for sure how well they'll hold up, but they feel much sturdy than most of the tights I have (most of which were significantly more expensive, too, so even if these don't last quite as long I'll still come out ahead). They're also very soft and comfortable, and seem like they'll be pretty warm.
I also wanted to respond to some complaints I saw about these tights running small. I was hesitant to buy them after reading that, since I'm at the very upper end (slightly over, actually) of the stated range for the largest size, but I decided it was worth a try anyway. As it turns out, the 10-14 fits me perfectly. I'm 5'5" and 112 pounds, which is 1 inch and 2 pounds over the upper limit listed on the size chart (5'4" and 110 pounds), and not only does the size 10-14 fit me, it actually fits better than most tights I've tried, where I'm usually an inch too tall for the smallest size but far too light for the next size up, and neither size turns out to be even close to fitting. I don't know about the age ranges -- I know plenty of 14-year-olds who are significantly bigger than I am, and the 10-14 would probably be way too small for them -- but going by the height and weight chart, I definitely would not describe these as running small. However, I wouldn't recommend putting them in the dryer even though the packaging says it's fine -- they're cotton, so there's a good chance they'll shrink.

tights

I like these tights. They are heavier than most other plain-weave tights I have seen, they haven't run, they have held their shape well for mostly cotton tights, and have only balled up very slightly where my daughter's tennis shoes rub against them. These are uniform tights so I was looking for hard wearing ones, and these are good for that. I wish they were cheaper (someone left the anniversary sale sticker on), but I would stock up when they are on sale.
Five stars if they didn't ball up at all (a miracle I know) and if they were cheaper.

Great But Quite Small
PostedMarch 10, 2010
Prosnice, thick, small
These hold up really well, are very soft, cozy and warm (my daughter loves them and calls them "socks stuck-together"). However, they run pretty small. My daughter is 6-1/2, small for her size, and really has to reef on the size 6-8, and the crotch still hangs a little low. We have had them for about 2 months and already need to buy the 8-10 size for her! They are worth the money, for sure (especially being organic!) but we already need to buy an additional 4 pairs. ???
