Not nude
PostedMarch 19, 2014
This color is way too lite for my taste. If you're looking for nude color, this isn't it. Look at it in person and try it on your lips to see if you're loving it.
For a product that's cost a quite a bit of money is just a waste if it's just sitting in my drawer. I'm not sure if I can return or exchange the color.
Love the packaging though

Not what I expected...

Prosnon-sticky, weightless, highly pigmented
Every woman deserves to have a high end, luxury lipstick. Chanel? YSL? Dior? I'd debated shades for a month before deciding on Fuschia Tourbillon, swatching it on as many websites as I could. Every site described the color as cool toned blue based fuschia which was exactly what I was looking for. Based on the rave reviews of Rouge Volupte I figured even if the color was off, I'd still have a luxurious lipstick.
Of course, the color was off. It's not cool toned, nor blue based. It's a nice color but I think it would be better suited for a warmer skin tone. What disappointed me was the texture of the lipstick itself. This stuff is pigmented, one swipe is all you need. It almost feels liquid going on, "weightless" is truly an understatement. I realize I am probably the minority on this one but it has too much slip for me. I felt like it would slide off and kept checking to make sure it was still in one place. I hate matte formulation for lipsticks but I don't like it slippery either. Maybe it's something I need to get used to, especially if I liked the taste, which I don't. It has a slight perfume smell which doesn't bother my sensitive nose, but the taste is awful.
It wears well despite the slip, it wore down to a stain and didn't leave that awful ring around the lips we all despise. There is some sparkle which I didn't see until I put it on, but I like some shimmer on the lips. After playing around with it I found the best method for me is to put a good layer on and using my fingers, mash it into my lips and then blot it down to a stain. Surprisingly, the color is nothing like the full blown non-blotted color. It turns into a lovely deep pink with gold sparkle. I then ever so lightly dab a tiny bit more on top. It's not so slippery that I need to check it every 5 minutes, and the color is lovely.
All in all I would recommend this product and I will repurchase but I think I'll try lighter shades - I've had my eye on Nude Beige forever and the lighter shade won't require as much maintenance as a brighter color. The packaging is everything I would expect from YSL and lovely to display. It's highly pigmented and insanely light considering how dense the color is. Beware of the taste and slip, but it can be worked with and, you're worth the splurge!

Proslong-wearing, non-sticky, creamy, moisturizing, one of a kind
Gorgeous color with great pigmentation of hot pink red with very tiny touch of coral. Beautiful, that kind of shade that should be re-name: "Attention Please! "
Wonderful light texture & glossiness. One of a kind, simply gorgeous!
