The dress and jacket are the more standard traditional mother of the bride. It exudes elegance for the stately mother of the bride and perfect for the late morning early afternoon ceremony. The jacket has stiff shoulder pads and the jacket length reveals a nice cut to the figure. Its perfect for the ceremony and the woman who prefers a more conservative look. However, after the ceremony, the removal of the jacket reveals a more sexy sophisticated dress with more of a empire waist. The dress material is a jacquard that has less movement or flow. There's a gold thread that creates a satin shine against an ivory background. I had returned the outfit due to the background color that was too close to my daughter's bridal dress. Also, I was looking for a dress for a early evening ceremony that would translate into a evening reception. I'm 56yrs old, 5ft 5in, 36 b-c bust and workout on a regular basis.

This is a very classy dress that will look really good on the mother of the bride. Due to all the reviews, I ordered a size smaller (size 8 instead of 10). It is too small for me.
I have already lost 10 lbs and plan to lose another 10 before the wedding on August 2014. I think the dress will fit perfect next year. I am going to take it to a seamstress and have he/her fit it perfect to me. I live in New Mexico and we do not have a Nordstrom in our area.
If you want your daughter/son to be proud of you, this is the dress you should wear to their wedding.

I absolutely loved this dress and jacket. The fabric is luxurious; beautiful construction. I did not keep it because it was a bit short-waisted on me, but I would recommend it for a special occasion. I was looking for a mother-of-the-groom dress. This was perfect, but for the fit.
