I purchased my husband’s first pair last year and he absolutely loved it. He says it’s extremely comfortable and likes the modest simple look of it. It has been a year since he has owned them and I haven’t heard a single complaint.
I love the fact that we can send off the shoes for a free repair, but in order to send off the shoes, I figured I needed to purchase another pair to keep his feet happy. NAS came around soon enough to make this happen affordably.
We purchased his second pair during NAS early — best deal ever!
For the record, I guy lots of shoes. Santoni is one of my favorites. Recently, I bought 6 pairs of To Boot New York to give them a good run and my favored Pain Santoni. Ok, that said, a couple years back I bought a pair of these as I was told how comfy they were. They were on sale so I pulled the trigger. They were comfortable. The style is blah. you would think they would make these look better but I guess they have a following that says they must be border line ugly. That is what they are. But if you are looking to buy these - you like the ugly of Mephisto. OK - so they were comfy.
So where did they fail? I returned them completely worn out after only a couple months. yes - they wore a hole through the bottom in only a couple of months. These were by far the worst quality shoe I had ever purchased. I had never worn a hole in the sole of any shoe that fast.
it does not get terrible from here as my goal was to get a driver type shoe. these failed. But I discovered another shoe on sale right now at Nordstrom that is just as comfy, slightly less ugly, and ONLY 99 - the Ecco driver. if you are looking to get these - yes, they are comfy. No - they will not last very long. if I burned through them in only a couple months - so will you.
Beautiful leather shoes, both soft and smooth to the touch and on your feet. Fit perfectly my size is 9M/D width. Extremely comfortable, little to no break in will be needed. I can tell already these shoes will easily conform to a custom fit, on your feet. I wear them with a medium low cut sock.
These are my husband's favorite shoes. This is the first time Nordstrom did not have them in the store. However they were promptly found and shipped which was nice. However I took away one star because I was charged $9.00 for shipping. Disappointed in you, Nordstrom.
