nice scent, but ephemeral

I've been wearing different Jo Malone fragrances for years and I've never worn one that lasted so badly. The scent itself is wonderful: predominantly fig with some very (extremely) subtle notes of cassis, but it lasts about ten minutes before the scent disappears. There's no drydown, no development in the scent, nothing but the first few notes of fig and cassis before it disappears altogether. It's a great scent but in need of much better staying power, which is what makes it such a disappointment. This scent just doesn't live up to its potential.

My Jo Malone journey began with Pomegrante Noir - a fragrance I still adore. On introducing a good friend to the brand a few months later - after her complementing my scent & enquiring what it was - her journey began with French Lime Blossom & Wild Fig & Cassis. I've never cared for FLB - sorry JM but to me it smells like toilet cleaner - though WF&C does make it better. Still not for me but then different body chemistries make for different effects. Anyway, when I smelt WF&C I loved it! So much so that when I got a raise I bought some! It's not a fragrance I combined with anything as nothing was suggested that I liked so I just used to wear it over the body lotion. Like all the other JM fragrances I wear people often compliment me on how lovely I smell. I find WF&C to be quite a soft & subtle scent. One that is quite hard to define. For me the initial scent is quite green & fruity but after a short time the fragrance develops into something quite deeper & the woodiness comes through. It's a unique smell and I love it. Like Nectarine Blossom & Honey I often wear it for work as it's not intrusive. The only fragrance combination I've liked is with Peony & Moss - which was unfortunately a limited edition - but I bought a big bottle & am eking it out! The 2 combine beautifully but again are the scent is hard to describe. Give it ago & see what you think.

New to Jo Malone and now in Love

Had heard lots of praise about the products so took the plunge. Wasn't disappointed the smell is divine, makes me want to spray my entire home with the scent. The scent goes on strong but fades quickly so I find myself re-applying as I love it so much.
