My boys complained these were "girl socks" and I have to admit the fabric does remind me of the socks I used to wear as a girl. So, I returned them to the store and thankfully they had the Nike equivalents that are made of thicker "boy" cotton.

These are socks they will/want to wear. They're comfy without bulky seams.
