Great comfort and a good look

i purchased the chili Ashton shoes. Our company is business casual so i get great wear out of these shoes. They are very, very comfortable and look great with khakis.

After four years I finally bought my first two pairs of AE shoes.. I have both the chili and the black Ashtons. They go good with everything from dress to jeans. Next up a set of Park Avenues for Tax season 2014.

These shoes are perfect. I wear the black with suits and the NY shoe shine guys have put a military shine on them. The chili color is great with a suit or khakis. To keep the unique AE chili color, I bring a tube of chili polish with me for the shoe shine guys.
These are the only dress shoes I can put on at 5AM and take off at 11PM without foot pain. I still have 8 pair of leather sole AE's that I hope I can get back into some day.

First Pair of AE's

The Ashton's are my first pair of Allen Edmonds. I don't have any other AE shoes to compare them too, but I've worn them daily for the past three months and most of that time I was standing on hard floors (terrazzo#. I can say they are very comfortable and they don't squeak.
They did take a few days to break in. I store them over the weekend with shoe trees in, but they still have a couple tiny creases where they flex #not a problem IMO# and it's almost time for their first shine/polishing.
The rubber soles are nice, not to grippy and they don't leave black streaks. The outside corners of the heels show a little wear #also not a problem, that's just from how I walk/stand), but the rest of the sole is holding up just fine. I'd only be concerned with the rubber sole if you do alot of walking on rough concrete.
I'm glad I bought these shoes, if you need a comfortable, basic black shoe I highly recommend trying on a pair of these.
