the perfect shirt

I ordered this in sail. It arrived today, and I'm completely taken by the light soft feel of the fabric, the color, the drape, the length. Plan to wear it with leggings. I like my clothes loose, so ordered up one size, but my usual size probably would have fit just right. I always worry about shrinkage. I liked it so well, I ordered it in 3 more colors. Some colors are on sale.
I have been buying this classic James Pearse shirts in black, and wearing them for years until they are threadbare! So happy to find this style again at my local Nordstrom. The styling, fit and quality of these shirts has always been consistent even down to the pearl backed buttons. This is my go to piece.

Finally a button up for broad shoulders

I have extremely broad shoulders naturally and augmented by many years of competitive swimming, and I also I have a smaller/agerage waist (size 28 jeans). I have never found a button up shirt (Until this one!) that did not make me look like a box because I have to buy a L when I normally wear XS or S in other tees or blouses. It is fitted to your waist and the buttons on the shirt aren't stressed across the chest (I wear a 36B). It is absolutely the best button up I've ever worn. I plan on ordering another one in white. I'm 5'8", 140lbs and a 3 fit perfect!
