This is a very emollient conditioner -- the tiniest bit will overwhelm you. It has a slightly overpowering coconut smell. I had no qualms with it until after a week of using it & the accompanying shampoo & Amino Acid Scalp Treatment I broke out in nasty hairline acne!!!!! At my age!! If you think acne is intolerable when you are 16, wait until you are 60 & see how you feel about it!! These products were the only new things I had introduced into my routine so I know they are the culprit. I promptly returned ALL these Kiehl's Amino Acid products & would like to thank Nordstorm's for being so generous about their return policy!!
I grew up eating, grating, frying coconuts. (Not sure if I'd want to learn to climb a coconut tree.)
This shampoo and conditioner definitely smell coconutty. But the scent doesn't really linger long so monkeys won't be following you. It would definitely make you remember your last vacation in an island or eating macaroons without the calories.
They work well and I buy them often.
The only neg is 33.8 oz. That's a big bottle for a guy who typically has short hair, but nowadays shoulder length.

I've been using this conditioner and the corresponding shampoo for at least 10 years. I have very fine, short and slightly wavy hair that I used to wash daily. Now that I'm somewhat older, I'm down to shampooing every other day. I shampoo in the shower and then condition with a small amount of conditioner. Then I wash the rest of my body. When that's done, I rinse out the conditioner for about 30 seconds. These products and this routine work so well that I'm not interested in trying anything else. My hair is soft and shiny, but not limp. It is never greasy. I love Kiehl's products.
