Love this self tanner. It's easy to use, in particular, since it's tinted. When you put it on, you don't miss any spots so you can almost guarantee good coverage. I use my hands - not a sponge or brush. Works great, on my third bottle. Make sure you steer clear of clothing after applying - for about an hour - else you risk it staining it. Love this product, though, so the wait is worth it.
I just use this on my legs and it works nicely. I have not tried the darker color, but the light/medium takes away the white leg look just fine for my very light skin.
