Boys' dress shoes are usually very uncomfortable. The Driving Dime is a great alternative - a little more casual but super comfortable. It is the second pair I buy for my sun.

I searched everywhere I could think of for a loafer that meets our school's uniform requirement, but which would be comfortable for a little kid (4-5 yo) and not a trip hazard (so many have too thick soles that also stick out - terribly clumsy). This shoe is fantastic because it looks like a nice loafer, its easy on, tailered sole that won't trip excessively, yet more grip for slippery surfaces/recess & PE time ratherthan regular dressy loafers. He said it was comfortable from the first wear. I'll be buying larger sizes. Too bad it's not stocked in the stores!
