I bought 8 pairs based on other's reviews. They arrived today. And they are spot on.
The cedar has the expected strong cedar sent, and their appearance is beautiful. Plus, they actually fit my shoes almost perfectly... I couldn't be happier. I'll probably buy more soon.
If I had any complaints at all, it might be that the heals are a bit narrow, almost pointy, which may be perfect for women's shoes, but I'm a guy with wide feet. same for the toes, a bit pointy vertically. Also the springs that expand them are not very strong, but my use is mostly for men's boots, which is likely the end of the spectrum they were designed for... Either case, all of these minor short comings are easily overcome by addition of a small square of closed-cell foam cut from a camping-pad inserted flat over each toe (to push the toe-leather up in front) and behind each heal (to even the heal pressure laterally and to push the entire unit forward more tightly); however these are tight fits after adding foam inserts, almost too tight, so probably not necessary for any users but me. Anyhow, that minor tweak made them absolutely perfect for my needs... Regardless, these are undoubtedly the BEST shoe-trees I've ever found on the market at a reasonable price (there may be nicer options out there if you have no upper-limit to your budget, but nothing this nice at this price).
Point is these shoe-trees are very heavy-duty on their own; 100-times better than any cheap plastic or stamped-metal shoe trees I've owned... Certainly worth every penny!
