The color seen.
Formerly, Nordstrom provided a much more elegant shoe tree. Namely, a bold oval brass knob was ensconced on the heel portion. Also, sizing was more specific, meaning if one wears size 11, there was a corresponding shoe tree sized the same.

The golden part of these shoe trees had a sticky/sap like touch that ruined the shoes. Be careful to observe this before inserting in your shoes
