These boots do require a break-in period, and a little difficult to get on over a high instep. I had bought mine but had not worn them at Thanksgiving when my Granddaughter came wearing the same boots. I then wondered if Grandmother should have the same boots given the age difference. The fact that they are relatively plain without a lot of buckles, etc. I think any age could benefit from Frye boots. This is my second pair. Frye and Uggs are it for me.

I've had these boots for 3 years, and they still look like new. The quality is incomparable, and they're so comfortable. FYI, The grey color is more of a brown, but I love it! Fits true to size

Really liked these out of the box. But wore them yesterday and dislike several things. First, the leather gathers around my ankles making the shoe look loose and large. The black stacked heel and sole are bulkier than expected and showed every trace of lint from my office carpet. After one wear, the shoe stretched out a bit (but still too narrow to fit a thick sock). And finally, the leather is much shinier than my Frye Veronica Slouch, which has the smooth, flat finish I prefer. Unfortunately, the only thing I'm loving about my black Veronicas is the way the bottom wears away to reveal a rugged look. I can still recommend this boot, however, because the quality is superb! I purchased a Sam Edelman boot at the same time and that leather looked like plastic next to the Frye! The Veronica isn't my favorite but it is beautiful shoe loved by many!
This was by far the best purchase I have ever made. The calf does run a little small but once you break them in you should be fine. They are on the pricier side but I think they are completely worth it because they go with pretty much anything. Whenever I wear them I always get compliments on them. Overall they are definitely worth the price and I am so glad I bought them.
