Poor quality...
PostedOctober 19, 2015
I was super excited to purchase these boots. They looked great on and were extremely comfortable. However, I expected to have a more lasting boot for the price paid. After an hour of wearing them, the souls already looked worn and scruffed up. Very poor quality and definitely not worth the money.

Bad soles
PostedOctober 17, 2015
These are my go to boots for fall and look great. However I had to replace the soles after 6 months of wear because they had huge holes. I was certainly not anticipating having to throw additional money at this already expensive boot investment so soon.
Good looking boots, bad soles.

Gorgeous!

This is my first ever pair of Frye boots! I've heard many good things about this brand for years & decided to take the plunge. When these first arrived, I was super excited & wanted to try them on right away. Much to my dismay, I COULD NOT get them on!!! Frustrated & disappointed, I didn't know what to do! Size 8 is always a little large for me, but I have sore, large, big toes & need the extra space. I started to look around on the Internet to see if anyone else had the same issues & discovered that time-honored tradition of putting plastic bags over your feet to get tight boots on! I did this as a little girl, when putting on rubber overshoes but had forgotten all about this "trick". Anyway, long story short, I was able to easily pull the boots on & wear them around one weekend to break them in. Now I no longer need to use that old trick & in fact will probably start wearing thicker socks with them. I love the boots; I got them in the dark brown which in "real life" is a fairly dark, almost grey brown and looks well-worn, well-loved already. I believe they will go great with everything except possibly my dressiest stuff as the distressed look drops them out of the dressier boots (as far as riding boots are dressy, anyway!). Bottom line: these are well made, comfortable boots that look great.

Sole Fell Apart (see photo)

I bought these boots at the Green Hills Nordstrom in Nashville in August if 2014. I wore them periodically from Sept 2014- March 2014 (light use, mainly indoors, since I'm a teacher). I wanted to invest in a wonderful pair of boots that I could wear year after year. However, while walking in Asheville recently (on wet, cobbled streets), both boots wore a hole straight through the sole where the ball of the foot strikes! I was dismayed as they absolutely crumbled. Cute style, but NO durability. At over $300, it seems these "riding boots" should be able to handle a little rain. There is also little/no traction and you will slip in icy conditions.
