I got these instore at Nordstrom and they were very helpful.
Adding my sizing experience if it helps those thinking of purchasing. I usually take between a 6 and 7, and was able to wear a 6 with socks and a thin insole. (A 6.5 would have fit as well with a thicker insole.) At 5.4 these are a nice height just below my knee. I didn't have any problems getting them on but then I have flat feet and thin calves.
As for looks, many boots tend to gape at the calf for me, but these worked well. The shaft maintains a round shape at the top so extra space is less noticeable instead of creating one huge gap just behind the calf. The other problem I often have with tall boots is baggy ankles, this pair seems to keep their shape much better.
Since I've had these they are my everyday boot particularly for skinny jeans. The black leather is beautiful and looks very durable. My only regret is not buying these years ago!

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas and she loved them! The leather is so soft. They fit her great, true to size. The sole is smooth though, so beware if you have snowy sidewalks to navigate!

Love these boots--have the brown ones too. they are so comfortable and have gotten lots of compliments on them!!!!!!!! Frye boots are great and live to their name!!!!!!!! I have a small foot and I was so excited to be able to get a pair in my size.

Great versatile boot

I practically live in my boots and jeans on the weekends and found myself wearing through boots in less than a year so I decided to invest in a quality pair of basic boots and these were the winner. I am petite 5'2" and have fairly narrow calves so the shaft height and width are usually problematic for me...most everything is just a bit too tall and wide at the top. The Melissa Button boots fit perfectly. The dip in the front and back make them the perfect height, and the width is great with skinny jeans. The brown leather is gorgeous and supple. It scuffs and creases easily, but it adds character to the more-casual looking boot. Plus, the scratches definitely soften nicely with a little bit of polish/conditioner. These boots are also extremely comfortable. They fit my narrow feet well and I don't slide around in them at all. Even though they are fitted they aren't too difficult to get on and off. One of my favorite things about these boots though is the arch support. I have high arches and these are the first boots that I can really feel the support in the arch...so awesome. I would definitely recommend them!
