Classy but not stuffy

Prosversatile, elegant, not stuffy
I ordered this dress after it was recommended to me via a blog on proper attire for female wedding officiants.
I love it! It is classy and elegant but not stuffy.
The dress fits precisely as advertised. I ordered a size larger (as recommended by other reviewers) and it is literally perfect. I have it in midnight - which is a shade bluer than black. It looks terrific worn either with classy heels or with tights and boots.

Prosbaggy
I ordered this dress in black (size 12) and it made me look super frumpy. I thought it could be a cute party dress but was much more work appropriate than I would have liked. It was also long on me. I'm 5'6". I am pear shaped so the top was almost billowy. I had to send this one back.

Great cut, poor material
PostedMarch 9, 2014
This dress delivers everything it promises. As others have said, it can be dressed up or down and is extremely flattering in every regard, including length.. I bought the dress in navy.
The waist does sit a tiny bit high, but even though I'm long-waisted it still looks and fits properly. The liner covers the front well enough that there is no embarrasing gap where the front panels meet to create the "wrap"
Fabric is stretchy, so I found the best fit for me was actually 1 size smaller. It seems to be wrinkle free. There are no shoulder pads.
Two drawbacks: The dress needs to be dry-cleaned. Given the synthetic material, that's hard to understand. If there are manufacturing issues (weak thread, sloppy stitching, etc.) that cause this necessity, it should be fixed. Given the price and material, quality construction should be expected.
The second drawback is the synthetic material. The dress could be truly classy if offered in a silk or wool blend. The cheap material is visually apparent and I'm very conscious of it when I'm wearing the dress. I would be willing to spend considerably more on such a well-cut dress if it were offered in wool.
I would also like to see this dress in a coral red color rather than only cool/dark colors.

Beautiful dress

I ordered a size up in this dress as suggested in other reviews. It does seem to run a bit small thus ordering up a size was right for me. Overall love the dress and fit is very flattering.
