I think this dress is cute, kind of has a forties vibe. I like the color and think this dress would be appropriate for the office as well as going out.

I really, really wanted to love this dress, especially after reading the reviews. However, though the color is nice and it fits true to size, I will have to return it. While the top half looks nice enough on its own, the ruched fabric is more bunched around the waist than is apparent in the photo, and that prevents a form-fitting cardigan, or even light blazer, from being fastened around the waist area. I can't wear sleeveless dresses to the office, and the waist is high and bunchy enough that nothing other than a shrug would really work over it. More seriously, not only is the zipper totally unnecessary, but the bottom of the zipper sticks out right below the hipline and makes the left side of the dress lie differently than the right side. Perhaps on someone who is taller (I ordered the petite dress) or less curvy this would not be an issue, but on me this prevented the skirt from looking good.

A terrific basic for all occasions, this classic black dress has a beautiful, medium weight fabric, and a slimming fit, although a trim midriff works best with this style (mostly because of the side zipper).
