These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. Very good support. I recently wore them for a college campus tour where a typical day involved 3 hours of walking and standing. I was tired but my feet were ok. This is a nice alternative to an athletic shoe when an occasion calls for something more put together.

Proselegant comfort

Not all Mephisto fit me, but these are the most comfortable I have ever had. You can stand and walk for hours without being tired. They are elegant too and perfect with pants. I hope they will re-issue them in black.

I purchased these for an overseas tour which will involve a lot of walking. I have tried most of the other major shoe brands designed for cushioning and comfort but even those that feel cushy out of the box inevitably leave my flat feet hurting. (The 'sole' exception is Dansko's clogs but these are not very versatile for travel and a little bulky-not too great with capri's.) I have been walking 7 miles a week in my n shoes to try them out before the big trip. they still remain by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever had for this purpose.) My only complaint is that I would prefer slightly more cushioning in the ball of the foot. Since the shoes are a little snug across the instep, i will be unable to add an insole. Still, I am now a loyal fan of this brand and just purchased another pair.

This shoe felt wonderful from the moment I put it on. One of those, "fits like a glove" pair of shoes. Love it!
