I had the McNeil and after not even six months the heels started to fall apart...not heavy usage either. Nordstroms was great...they did an even exchange for the McAllister and they have been great...time will tell if they encounter the same heel issue.
Can't say enough about these shoes. You can't go wrong.

My husband owns another pair of Allen Edmonds in 9.5 D, and they fit perfectly. These however, took three tries to get the right pair. The first pair we received, the leather on top of the shoe was damaged (I was shocked since Nordstrom prides itself on quality, but to be fair, the shoes appeared to have come directly from the manufacturer based on the packing they came in). I sent the shoes back without having hubby try them on first (tip #1: try on all shoes even if you already own another pair from the same brand) so when they arrived, of course, they were way too narrow. We ended up at our local Nordstrom store and had an associate measure my husband's feet (which resulted in his normal size, 9.5 D). She helped us order 9.5 E. Long story short, these shoes come narrow.

I own 4 pairs of Allen Edmonds dress shoes, and each one of them is of the highest quality and fit... I trust the fit and quality control so much, I've purchased my last 2 online and they both fit just as well as my first 2...My Strand oxfords are nearly 15 yrs old and wear them for special occasions; they still look great (with the proper care too)... The McAllisters are my first wing-tip style are they are the real deal: classy & comfortable...I get a lot of looks and compliments whenever I wear them...I would not hesitate to recommend any Allen Edmonds shoe to anyone, even a total stranger!
