Strand in Chili

Prostimeless style
The quality of the shoe hits you as soon as you open the box. Fine leather and excellent attention to detail on the stitching and construction. I found the shoe does run about 1/2 size larger as others have suggested. Took me about 2 days to break in the leather and they are now soft as butter. Love the chili color as it goes amazing with brown/tan spring suits and grey suits as well. One small disappointment was the fact that Nordstrom didn't carry the matching AE belt. I picked it up at my local AE store, but it would've nice to one-stop-shop.
Amazing shoe and great to get an American made product.

Prosversatile, classic, high-quality
A typical (high-quality) Allen Edmonds shoe. The perfect fit is supplemented by a bold style. These shoes can be worn to special occasions with a suit, the office with dress pants and shirt, and out to dinner with jeans and a blazer, highlighting the versatility of the "Strand." I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these shoes (especially this one). Be sure to pair the shoes with the right Allen Edmonds belt and look really put together.

Prosquality, style, comfort
I bought these for my 25 year old son after doing a lot of research on good quality men's shoes. These are a significant improvement over the new but really uncomfortable Cole Haans that he bought. He likes the style and the comfort of these shoes. The high quality means that the shoes will last for far longer than other, less expensive brands.

A Shoe Every Man Should Own
PostedJanuary 1, 2015
Prosverstatile, stylish, comfortable
These are my first nice pair of dress shoes (that I have spent more than $200 on) and they are definitely worth it (though of course, I recommend getting them during the Anniversary Sale). I think these shoes should be a staple of every man's wardrobe, as they can be worn with everything from navy suits to jeans. Walnut is by far my favorite color, but Bourbon and Chili are nice too. To round out your wardrobe, get the Park Avenue in Black and something in brown or burgundy like the Clifton (preferably a blucher, or shoe with open lacing).
I did have an issue with sizing, but Nordstrom has such a great return policy and has been extremely patient with me (I have made three returns). Surprisingly, Nordstrom employees were better at sizing me than those at the Allen Edmonds store. My advice, go with your shoe size or half a size down (if using tennis shoes as a basis), and if your feet are average to wide, I recommend going with a wide size (or using a shoe stretcher if in between), as the 65 last runs narrow. Trust your instincts here, but be sure to try on multiple sizes just to be sure.
With minimal upkeep (biweekly to monthly polishing and conditioning), I can see myself wearing these shoes for many years to come.
