Not only did I purchase my first quality pair of shoes, but it was the first time I bought anything from Nordstrom. What an experience on both. First I had been wanting to invest in a true quality pair of shoes. At the top of the list of recommendations were Allen Edmonds, after going to the local Nordstrom and trying on several pairs and learning about shoe quality I decided to make the leap and purchase the Strands in the dark Chili, since then I have purchased another pair in Walnut. Keep in mind I thought spending $100 on shoes was quality....until I learned about real craftsmanship and quality, not to mention comfort. Allen Edmonds speaks it! The staff at Nordstrom are first class! I wanted to make sure I got the most from my shoes, they helped me on pairing them with my suits, as well as jeans, also educating me on the importance of shoe tree's as well. First class all the way, loved em so much wore them out the store!
This shoe is a true work of art. I bought this for my husband and he just loves them. They are very comfortable and can be dressed up and down. They are a little slippery in the beginning but they get better after you wear them a couple of times.

When my son asked for these shoes for his 21st birthday, my first reaction was to look for a pair of similar shoes for considerably less. But after reading dozens of reviews on these A.E. Strands in walnut, I became convinced that I would get my money's worth in style, comfort and durability. The smile on my son's face when he opened the box was priceless! They fit like a dream, he wears them everywhere, and there isn't a day without complements from friends as well as strangers. This was definitely a splurge, but I highly recommend it! Best shoes ever!
Allen Edmonds is famous for handcrafting exceptional shoes that will last a lifetime. These are no exception. I purchased these in Walnut and get complements almost every time I wear them (even from strangers). They are comfortable as well. The AE calfskin leather smell out of the box is amazing. Definitely worth every penny.
