AE shoes are highly recommended and I decided to try them out and I'm glad I did. Great quality and very versatile shoe for business or casual. Fits me very comfortably right away. Very happy with this purchase!
These shoes are excellent quality, as to be expected from Allen Edwards. This was my first pair, and I love them. They are a little pricey, and not included in the anniversary sale, but they are genuine Strands (firsts) so cost is not unexpected.
The Bourbon color is a beautiful intermediary if you don't want black shoes but want to stand out from the classic Walnut. I saw two pairs of these in store, and naturally each is a little different. One was slightly more yellow-tinged brown, and the others were more red-tinged (like the photo online). They are quite comfortable and the Goodyear welting makes these shoes durable. They will last a lifetime with proper care. Make sure to pick up some cedar shoe trees with your purchase!
Make sure you know your dress shoe size before ordering a pair. I was 0.5 sizes smaller than my normal shoe size.
Allen Edmonds has really stepped up their style with this pair of lace-ups. True to their comfort and quality standard, these shoes do not disappoint. I love how anything in the brown category from AE takes on a rich tone as it ages. Be sure to get these polished regularly to maintain their look.

Aesthetically, this shoe is simply, sublime. Very high quality. Personally, I am mesmerized by the color and craftsmanship of it. By far, this is the best "looking" dress shoe I have ever owned. Having obtained my pair at a 35% discount to the suggested retail price I feel like I paid a fair price. Anything higher, and I would pass. Some things are worth waiting for.

I would have given the shoe five stars if it were more comfortable. Unfortunately, it is not. Perhaps this is due to the fact that it is not yet broken in. It "feels" like the shoe is just a tad too narrow on my feet. And this was after inserting my shoe trees into the shoes for the first 24 hours. Thus, if possible, I would recommend trying on an "E" size rather than my standard "D" before making a final decision. Shoe trees are also a must in my opinion. I would insert them at least 48 hours prior to wear.
