Allen Edmonds are still the best dress shoe for the money. Sure you can spend $500, but still won't get the comfort and style of an Allen Edmonds shoe. They last forever and never go out of style.

I am happy to tell you that this shoe is a wonderful addition to my life. I love them ! Started with the service that I experience at the store and also through the computer. Every body was so helpful and when the first pair did not fit correctly I had no problems getting a different pair. No problems on returns or anything else. I love the product ! Beautiful but yet comfortable. So..... The service and the product to Me they are a ( 10 )

For me, I had to go down a 1/2 size and increase the width a size. Initial feel is pretty stiff, but they soften and conform pretty quickly. They are not patent leather, but they arrive with a very shimmery appearance which gives them a real formal appearance. I've only had them a month, but my guess is that such shine will wear off with time. You can tell by examination that these are very well made shoes that should last some time, plus the fact that the shoes can be recrafted. I am please with the purchase, and this was a high-end shoe for my closet.
I buy AE shoes because they fit right out of the box and look great starting on day one of use. This pair of 13 EEE black Strand Oxford shoes is perfect for my professional wardrobe and will carry me many miles before I'm done with them.
