Great shoe but AE is slipping in quality/attention to detail

Purchased a pair of the walnut in size 8B from my local men’s clothing store and upon receiving them, it was clear that the “cap toe parts” of each shoe were burnished, making them darker than the rest of the shoe. The Strand is not supposed to be burnished, especially not the walnut color. The shoe is supposed to be the same color throughout. The shoe fits great for my narrow width so there are no problems there. I have several pairs of AE shoes and have not had any problems in the past but since the company has been under new management the quality and attention to detail have dropped in my opinion. I have been drawn to this brand because most of their shoes are made in America but honestly I don’t know how many more pairs I will get in the future unless I see a change for the better in the areas mentioned above

Second pair of Allen Edmonds and disappointed...
First pair was good, however, the second pair I ordered (Strand Cap-Toe Oxford) were total garbage. The outer side of left shoe collar rode so high that is caused my ankle to bleed after wearing it one day. Will take to a cobbler to see if it can be fixed, or will throw away.

As a recent convert, I purchased four pairs of Allen Edmonds over the holidays, including two Greene Street Wingtips, one Boulevard Cap Toe, and this Strand Cap Toe Oxford (Cigar). I was comfortable buying the bluchers given my high instep. I was much less confident with the Strand Oxford. I thought it would fit much too tight across the vamp and laces area. My fears were unwarranted. Allow me to back up--I am a big guy with wide feet--10.5 3E. The Strand Oxfords fit like a glove, and are incredibly comfortably in every respect. I am immediately ordering another pair of Strands (black), as well as the Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue shoes based on the same 65 last. I am a huge new fan of this excellent shoe brand. BTW, I love the other shoe purchases as well, but the Strand is phenomenal!
