If you are reading these reviews you are likely in the market for a classically styled dress shoe. You have found it. This shoe not only has the look that I desire for professional meetings and presentation, but they also are comfortable. In a word, perfection.

Very solid shoe, but for the money, a leather stacked heel (like Alden) would really be nice. You could even upcharge for this added bit of fine shoe detail. A big chunk of rubber for the heel detracts somewhat from the overall design. Did not find the shoe to be too narrow at all, as some reviewers have said. Like all balmoral designs, can be a painful shoe if you have a high instep. Great color to match with jeans and a sportcoat!

Just got my third pair of Strands, with a total of six AE pairs in the last two years. Wearing them is kind of like driving a Mercedes. Once you own one, nothing else is good enough.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] its pretty obvious why this is one of AE's best selling shoes. I've had mine for just over 1.5 years and wear it 1-2 times per week and it still looks new. its the best dress shoe I've ever had and probably my favorite pair of AE that I own. highly recommend!
