I have combo skin and this is just right for me. It has a smooth consistency no noticeable scent. I notice a nice healthy glow after every application. I have noticed cumulative effects from my other La Mer products. I'm anxious to see the benefits after this jar is empty

Finally, the perfect face cream!

This is the holy grail of skin creams, in my opinion! Of course everyone has heard of La Mer and it being the best lotion you can get. I have tried the original La Mer cream as well as the soft and both were much too heavy for my slightly oily/combination skin... until they came out with the gel cream. It is the PERFECT consistency and goes on cool and light on my skin. It is perfect for warm weather and humidity (I live in Florida). The only unfortunate thing I've found is that it doesn't last as long as the original or soft La Mer creams, so I am finding I have to splurge on this a lot more frequently... But the the results and the way it makes my skin feel are definitely worth it!

Prosabsorbs quickly, intensive, lightweight
I rarely write reviews but feel motivated to write about the Moisturizing Gel Cream because my skin had such a dramatically good reaction to it. First of all, I have acne-prone skin and have taken Accutane numerous times. I even take small doses over long periods of time to combat acne and oily skin. I stopped taking the Accutane in early December and the breakouts returned. My skin was red, peeling, broken out and looked terrible. I tried this La Mer Gel Cream and *overnight* I saw a dramatic improvement. The redness and dryness were gone and the breakouts were subsiding. No oiliness in my skin! Almost two months later now, my skin looks amazing -- no more acne, no redness, no peeling, and no oily skin -- just evenly toned, normal, and beautiful skin. I can hardly believe it.
I tried La Mer's regular moisturizer some years ago and returned it because it was far too heavy for my skin condition. What a complete difference the gel cream makes. I LOVE the texture of it. It feels great going on, soothing and cool, and it absorbs completely leaving no stickiness or oily feeling behind. Perfect. I only wish that it was more affordable.
What still amazes me is that the healing effect was so profound the next morning -- it was like a miracle. I've never experienced such a complete change in my skin overnight like this. I'm so happy. I hope you have the same kind of fabulous results. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. Try it.
I have combination skin that doesn't do well with the La Mer moisturizing creme or the soft cream. I tried this gel version for the first time years ago and it is still my go-to daily moisturizer. It gives my skin just the right amount of moisture and does not make me break out. The scent is light and heavenly. The cream version of this tends to be too heavy for my skin and this gel is just PERFECT! I just wish it didn't have such a hefty price tag...do yourself a favor and try this gel-it will blow you away!
