Surprised I can use this foundation
PostedNovember 1, 2013
Proslight, natural
This seems to be a great foundation and Ihave tried many. My skin tone seems to be a very difficult one to match. The coverage is medium with only one pump for my whole face. I would imagine that if more coverage is needed, additional product can be layered. I am surprised that I can wear this foundation since I can not use any of the la mer face creams!

At first it seemed lovely, then became a bit oily feeling and not enough coverage on certain days. Plus, it was starting to breakout my sensitive skin that flares up. Too bad bcse the bottle is so good.

Not so much

Prosnot smooth, unnatural
I wanted to like the foundation, but it doesn't settle in the skin. I tried it for 3 days and each day I disliked it more. The make-up stays above the skin and shows all the lines and imperfections. I even tried it with a primer. I went back to Lancome 24 hour foundation, love this foundation. Maybe, La Mer should just stay in skincare.

Great for Dry, Mature Skin
PostedOctober 20, 2013
Prosflawless, moisturizing, natural, youthful glow, buildable, long-lasting
I first purchased La Mer in Ivory late last spring and its light golden color was perfection throughout the summer and into early fall. Over the past few weeks; however, the last hints of summer have faded from my skin and so I have transitioned into Porcelain by mixing the two shades; gradually using less Ivory and more Porcelain until I am now using Porcelain alone. Since the foundation comes in a sanitary pump bottle, I can safely put Ivory away until next spring when the warm California sun once again adds a bit of color to my light complexion. The fact that I am willing to buy two different colors in order to obtain the perfect transition shade speaks to the quality of the foundation itself. I simply wouldn't be without it. It is an excellent option for those of us with dry, mature skin. It is a soothing and moisturizing treatment foundation that dries to a satin finish that gives us older women that youthful glow our skin is beginning to lose. I apply it with my fingers, gently patting it on and smoothing it out with a feather-light touch. As for the enlarged pores on the sides of my nose and the fine lines under my eyes, I just go back and press my fingers to those areas and the warmth of my fingers causes the foundation to fill them in so that my skin looks smooth and flawless. After applying the foundation, I set it with a light application of a finely milled finishing powder and I'm set for the day.
I noticed a couple reviewers with oily skin had trouble with this foundation. The SA should have told them this foundation is meant for normal to dry skin. I actually wear it over La Mer cream and have no problem with it becoming oily or slip-sliding away, but then I have dry skin.
