... and so I came, armed with Birthday money, ready to shop the half-yearly... and all my favorites were quickly unavailable in my size (I am really a 5, but w/ Fryes, a 5.5 will have to do, which is OK for my winter woolies!) I needed a new pair of Fryes in a "neutral" color... I was thinking cognac (reds) or taupe (greys/tans). And being 5'1", I liked the concept of an OTK boot but was concerned with them becoming thigh highs on me! And then... I tried these on. Oh my word - these boots are TDF!! They do cover my knees but no further... and I love that! The color is sublime- I like the distressed variegation of the leather- and yet it is so soft. The fit is spot on- yes a wee loose for my TTS 5 feet, but with thick socks, it is perfection. Also: oh so comfy. And.. they layer so well w/ knee socks, leggings and jeans, oh my! They really are quite versatile and I am suddenly looking forward to cold weather. Now to get them treated for the Seattle rain...
I purchased the taupe color and love them! Absolutely gorgeous boot. I am normally a 7 1/2 in boots but tried the 8 due tue my high arch and pull on style with no zipper...I found the 8 a little big so I'm exchanging them for the 7 1/2. I would recommend your true size. The color goes with everything, very versatile. I love the color variation, as well.

I just got these boots last week and I cannot stop wearing them! They are comfortable, sturdy, and go with many outfits. I highly recommend these boots, lucky for me I bought them during the Anniversary Sale.

I first saw these boots two years ago on woman who was 5'10 and had great legs. I fell in love with the look but because I'm 5'1 and tiny I figured they wouldn't suit me. Well fast forward a few years and I still couldn't get them out of my head so I bit the bullet and bought them in me regular size of 5.5 in taupe. OMG they are fantastic! Great color, they go with so many different outfits, they're comfy for all day wear, and they're good dressed up or down. I only wear them with the cuff folded down and in that state they hit me an inch below my knee cap, folded up the go over my knee but I don't love the look. Buy them they are a great investment piece that you'll wear for many seasons.
