These are much more comfortable than Converse sneakers. TOMS slip ons have padding, don't make your feet hot and sweaty, and don't require any breaking-in. Oh, and they are really light (not heavy). I wore these to Disneyland and I had no problems. Definitely worth paying for, especially because another pair will be given to a child in need.
I've had 2 pairs of classic TOMS prior to buying my most recent pair. I like how since I bought my first pair, they've lengthened the room in the toe. This also helps the shoes wear better since your toes aren't squished against the end, wearing the fabric down faster. I find TOMS to be very comfortable and great to walk long distances in. My shoes tend to only last a year, but they serve me well and receive heavy use. I also think the price is pretty good, especially with the 1-for-1 donation program.
I finally succumbed and bought a pair of TOMS. The sizing is a bit tricky, and I'm still not entirely sure I'm a 7.5 or and 8, but I bought the 8 and wore them traveling and they were great! I usually go for an 8 or a 8.5, so I would say if you're between sizes, go down.
