I bought my first TOMs last year (the crochet kind) in size 7. They stretched out and the light-colored crochet dirtied easily. I bought the gray canvas in 6.5 and just love them. I range from size 6.5 - 7, and these 6.5s were a wee bit snug right out the box (a bit tricky to get on!), but adjusted quickly enough that, within a day of purchase, I was walking all day in them without a single complaint.
I can also attest to the gray canvas hiding dirt. I bought this same style for my toddler son last year (Tiny TOMs!) he wore them everywhere and they never looked dirty like his regular sneakers.

Ash color is off

My only disappointment is that the Ash color is more of a brownish color than a dark gray color that I was hoping for. Otherwise, size, fit and comfort were great!

I got these based on reviews. I got so excited when I received them but when I tried on and walked. I felt my feet slip out every time I walked and felt pain on my upper feet every time I walked as well. It seems like work well with others but not me. I got size 5 but they were too big.
