I would like to commend Veronica de la Torres (I'm not entirely sure of the spelling of her last name)at the Jo Malone counter in your Santa Anita store for her incredible customer service. I was searching for a discontinued fragrance, that no one seem to have. I phoned your Santa Anita store and spoke with Veronica, who was more than willing to try and track down the fragrance. She was honest with me and told me the chances were low but that she would try. She found 4 bottles of the Vanilla Anise fragrance for me and had them shipped to my home on the Central Coast. Her follow through and pleasant demeanor made shopping over the phone a joy!! Because of Veronica you have a customer for life!!! Thank you Veronica!!!!!
I took a chance and ordered this scent from Nordstrom before testing it.
The positives: Vanilla and Anise really is a lovely scent, it has a subtle headiness with grown-up hints of vanilla and spice. I think it would wear well in the evening or during the winter months.
The not so positives: It doesn't have that classic Jo Malone edge. Jo's original scents all have pronounced notes of exactly what is listed in the description. They don't smell like anything else on the market, which is why I love them. Vanilla and Anise smells like an Estee Lauder product (which it is), not a bad thing by any means but it's not Jo Malone... No matter what the packaging says.
