Kork-Ease Bette

Prosgreat platform
ConsMedium width
What a pleasant surprise when I put them on and discovered the soft padding. These make me tall without giving me aching feet. The angle of the platform is great because it doesn't create typical high heel pain. Another plus is that even though they're platform they don't make me feel as if I'm about to fall over when I'm walking - the sole has enough contour so I don't look like I'm walking around with two bricks on my feet.

After coveting this shoes for almost 6 months (I had been waiting for the weather to get warmer), I finally went to Nordstrom and purchased them. I'd read the reviews about the straps being a little tough at the beginning, though someone said they'd had no problems. I figured I have slender feet, it wouldn't be an issue for me. Wrong. The straps around the toes are tight and feel very punishing after 4 hours of walking. I felt this was worse when the weather was warmer, as the feet start to sweat. Walking in hot weather with these shoes on is not a pleasant experience. Sitting in an air conditioned office for 8 hours, though, is not a problem.
I've had these shoes for a month now and I am still working on breaking them in. When I got them I'd envisioned them as my new "Summer Uniform" shoes. This has not happened, yet. I haven't given up hope, though. I really want to believe that a couple more weeks of constant wear (with socks), will stretch them and loosen them up enough to be the comfy shoes they are purported to be.

Kork Ease

Love this sandal. Had them in the 70's and lived in them. So retro. Would have given it a 5 but leather is very stiff. I wet the inside of the straps and put them in a stretcher to loosen them up. Other than that their great.

Pretty, but not for me...

Prosnot comfy..
ConsMedium width
I'm returning this shoe because it doesn't quite fit the bill for what I need. I find the height too high and the overall feel of the shoe isn't comfortable enough for me. I did expect Kork Ease to have a "softer" feel and this shoe isn't at all. It has a very firm feel, without any "give" to it. That said, it is a very pretty shoe and I can understand why others like it.
