Indispensable tool for application of gel eyeliner

I am very happy I ordered this brush together with the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner. Hairs have just the right flex and come to a perfect point. Handle is easy to grip. Unsure only about one thing: what is the proper way to clean it? Can anybody help?
I purchased this for precise lining, but the bristles are too long and I find it difficult to work with for precision lining. I use it under my low lash line when applying shadow but NOT for lining. Overall would not purchase it again.

This brush is so cool. It comes to more of a point than you can see in the picture, and it helps you control the amount and shape of your eyeliner. I think this brush will last me a long time and I'll use it every day. Definitely recommended.
I didn't even open the packaging after receiving in the mail. It's not pointy, not flat either. I own 2 MAC brushes, 210 and 209, and they are both much better than Bobbie Brown brushes. I wanted a brush to use apply eye shadow as eye liner, but I thing I need a flat brush, this is not the one.
