I am 5'7 and don't have to hem. I bought them in large, and they are a nice loose fit in the seat on me as I normally wear an 8, sometimes 10. I've had these pants in grey for about 4 years, and they are holding up like new. I've bought them in black, the tie-dye looking pair, and also pink. I actually returned the white because I had too many and preferred the pink for my light color. They aren't see-through, but when I tried them on, I did have to wear nude colored undies. I love these and they hold up very well. I teach yoga in them, dress them up, or dress them down. I get a ton of use out of them.

Nice style, good color, and big flowing legs. Too bad the material is so flimsy and bunches around the hips.

The fabric of these versatile pants is very soft and comfortable -- a dream to wear! The waist band is a different fabric but also very soft and non-binding. The white is double layered but still a tad thin, so the wearer will need to be mindful of their selection of undergarments.
I think these will look great with flip-flops but they also could be dressed up a bit; perfect for comfy yet classy vacation-wear. I have ordered additional pairs of this pant in other colors!
The inseam could be a touch longer -- I didn't measure, but it seems like it might be a little less than the stated 31". I am 5'8"+, with most of my height in my legs, and the pants are *just* long enough. The label says these are pre-shrunk so hopefully there won't be any issues in the future that cause me to turn these into capris... stay tuned.
I would give these pants 5 stars except for the inseam and transparency issues noted above.

LOVE Hardtail products; never disappoint; one of my "go to" brands. Can depend on them to never disappoint. This item was no different. Pants so comfortable and surprisingly elegant for a casual look. Color rich and enhances any top selection. Comort supreme. LOVE them
