Fell for the Clarisonic hype!
PostedJuly 17, 2014
I admit it, I fell prey to the Clarisonic hype. Like many other reviewers, I loved my Clarisonic Mia at first, but after a month of use I noticed some significant changes in my skin, and not in a good way. To start off, let me tell you about my skin - normal to dry, sensitive, and unfortunately acne-prone (but has been under control in the last five years). I first started using my Mia every day, twice a day for a week which I came to realize was too much for my skin and changed to using it once at night every couple of days. I also switched to the acne brush head which was much better suited for my skin. The brush head that comes with the unit is definitely NOT for sensitive skin, and I am still not sure how Clarisonic figures it to be. I would say it is more of a normal skin brush head. For about the first month, my skin did seem softer, clearer, but it was around that time I started to notice the negative changes. My skin began to break and dry out way more than usual. I was noticing wrinkles that weren't apparent before, and getting pimples in spots I haven't in years. Now, I would clean my brush head often with anti-bacterial soap and let air dry so it wasn't the cleanliness of the brush. I hadn't changed anything else in my skincare regimen so I knew it was the system. At first I thought it was purging, but the breakouts didn't stop while using the Mia. I also didn't see any changes in dark spots or the cleaning out of the pores in my t-zone. After waiting 3-4 months and reducing use to once a week, I have since ceased using my Mia. The breakouts have finally stopped, and the wrinkles have softened a bit. I didn't have any problem with the functioning of the unit. The battery lasted a while, but I would only use it every couple of days to once a week - I cannot attest to its life from every day use. Overall, I wouldn't recommend he Mia to those with sensitive, acne-prone skin.

Leaves skin super clean

Proseasy to use, effective
I was impressed and truly love it. However, I did not see a difference in actually clearing my skin of acne. I felt like my skin was cleaner and there was no more make-up on my towels after washing but I still had acne. If you are looking for super clean skin this is amazing.

Proseasy to use, effective, functional, consistent
I have struggled with acne since I was a teen and I'm 28 now. I finally found that Clinique helps keep my skin clear the majority of the time, minus the few hormonal blemishes. However, adding the Clarisonic to the mix has made my skin regime PERFECT! It makes my skin feel like it can breathe, that its completely clean with no grime left behind and has helped diminish all of my breakouts. I have been using it for 2 weeks and haven't had any of the early breakouts that some other users say they have had. I also haven't had any redness. My skin is very sensitive but the Clarisonic doesn't irritate it at all. I can't believe I waited this long to get one, this is a MUST HAVE for any person who experiences consistent blemishes! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love the way the clarisonic makes my skin feel but both my Mia and my Clarisonic broke within 2 years-disappointing considering I only used the Mia a few times
