I bought this sandal in both black and charcoal and wish Nordstrom carried them in other colors--I'd buy them all! I had almost given up finding a comfortable gladiator-style sandal and was thrilled to find these. This is the most comfortable sandal I own and is well worth the price. They make your feet feel like you are walking on clouds--what a luxury! The leather is extremely soft and there is no need to break them in. I love that you can use the ties to adjust them as needed if you have a problem with your feet swelling. The deerskin lining is heavenly against your skin. Buy these shoes! You'll be glad you did at the end of a long day on your feet. Gentle Souls really are "gentle soles"!

These are by far the most comfortable summer sandals I own & I own a lot. I normally wear either 6.5 or a 7 and ordered a 6.5 after trying them on in the store in the wrong color. I can't wait to wear these on vacation where my feet can take a breath too!

I had been looking for a soft sole gladiator sandal for some time. Most are made with the hard leather sole, which is just not comfortable for me. I found these online and took the advise of the other reviewers and ordered 1/2 size smaller. They fit perfectly! The leather is very soft and comfortable feeling when laced. The soles are nice and soft. They feel and look great - I love them! The color is not really charcoal however, but more of a taupe. It's very neutral and goes with many outfits. I think I prefer it to charcoal.
