This pencil just glides on with the lightest touch. The coverage is beautiful. However, I agree with other reviewers that the softness makes it easy to put on too much, and means you have to sharpen more frequently. I'm also not sure I'd really call this gray. Perhaps I'd call it neutral gray-brown. My hair is pretty much steel gray, and this pencil looks very natural on me. I'd buy it again.
This pencil was suggested to me by a consultant at a Bobbi Brown counter in Nordstrom. I never thought I wanted a pencil, but it has a very soft application and is just what I need to fill in sparse brows without overdoing it (as has happened with other products). I was also surprised that the “gray” color was just right for my lighter blond hair. Very pleased, although I’m still learning how to use it.
This “grey” is more of a light, neutral brown color. I tried “ash” at first and thought it was perfect for my aging strawberry blonde hair, until I tried this. It lacks the warmth/orangey quality in some pencils for blondes, that tends to look super fake. With a light hand, this one is perfect! This powdery formulation is highly pigmented and has tremendous staying power. One pencil lasts quite a long time. My favorite, hands down!
