Pretty, but not for me

The dress was pretty, but it just made me look frumpy, and the color did nothing for me. I have broad shoulders and narrow hips and normally would have ordered the medium to accommodate the shoulders, but it was out of stock, so I decided to try the small. The fit was good, the right size, but the dress came down to the floor on me. I wanted it for my daughter's May wedding, and it seemed more appropriate for a colder weather wedding. This dress would look a lot better on a tall person, I think. I am 5'2".

Gorgeous Dress

Prosformal, elegant, flattering
Beautiful dress.I'm 56 years old, 5' 4" tall, 130 lbs with an apple shape. Skinny hips and chest- but a bit of a belly. (Arg) My best feature is long, slender arms and without the jacket this dress accentuates them. I've searched for a Mother of the Bride dress and struggled because finding a style for my peculiar body isn't easy. Though it's relatively loose-fitting, it's somewhat clingy around my middle so I'll probably wear something to help me "suck it in." I initially ordered size M (too big) and am keeping the size S I now have. Not wild about the sleeves on the jacket so I'm taking it to a local seamstress/magician to see if she can restyle them in a more flattering way.

This is a very gracious, lovely dress and jacket. It looks like a soutache ribbon design. The fabric is quite nice, no scratchiness from sequins, etc. Not too heavy. A lot of well thought out detail in its design. I plan to wear it on a QM2 Trans Atlantic cruise in June.

Prosbeautiful, flattering
Perfect style for a mother of the groom. Flattering lines. The only drawback is the unique color. The color is gorgeous, but a little difficult to find accessories. The dress can look brown or plum depending on the lighting. Brown accessories make the dress look plum and are a definite mismatch. After several attempts have found shoes that compliment the dress nicely.
