These are definitely control top capri-length pantyhose, not really shapers. I like to wear a "shaping" undergarment under my capris to avoid panty lines and create a smooth look all the way down my leg. I used to like a style where the leg section was a more substantial and run-resistant but I can't find them anymore so I decided to try these. They do the job as far as eliminating panty lines but the leg section is definitely a stocking and very prone to runs. They are exactly as advertised - pantyhose - so beware of wearing jewelry when you're putting them on! And for that reason I would say they are rather overpriced, so I was happy to be able to get them on sale.
