These worked fine for the purpose intended. I'm 5'3" 130 lbs and right on the edge of the size chart. I had ordered the size 'B', but too loose. This was fine, although didn't hold my stomach in as much as I would have liked. I think you really need something that stops at waist or just above the waist to accomplish this. my dress was tight fitting and I didn't want any lines at my midsection to show, so this was the best choice. I don't see how these would work very well for someone weighing less than I. But overall for the price and the need, they worked fine. I liked the gusset idea, but was afraid to use it!! :)

I ordered according to my height and weight, which fell well within the parameters of size A. Well, I can't wait to return this item. I had great difficulty getting it on, but I persevered. When I finally managed to yank it up, I felt like I was in some medieval torture apparatus. The uncomfortable elastic around the upper torso would have been bad enough, but it actually forced my hips and thighs into some really weird, lumpy shapes. I'm not even going to try other Spanx, but will go right to another brand. I guess this is not the kind of item that should be ordered online.

I was in a wedding and needed to fit into a less than forgiving long dress. These helped dramatically pulling together the "money maker, etc.". Needless to say it fit without ripping at the seams for 10 hours.
