Surprisingly gentle cleanser

I received a small, 8ml, sample of this cleanser as a GWP and was unsure if it would be for me. Foaming cleansers are often a bit too strong for me, leaving my face tight. But I was very happy to find this one is gentle and left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I was also surprised at how little I needed, the sample lasted a long time!

This cleanser is pretty nice. It’s expensive but it foams up really well so you don’t need much. It doesn’t feel as drying as some other foaming cleansers—it’s quite creamy. It’s got some bits in it (guessing the rice??) and I can’t see that the bits add anything to it. I didn’t think physical exfoliators were a ‘thing’ any more, and even if they were, there aren’t enough bits to exfoliate I don’t think.

Whatever I try from Chantecaille I'm never disappointed. It's an expensive brand, but I really feel it's worth the money. I was surprised how such a tiny amount of a product can change into the most luxurious, creamy lather, and I mean tiny, a pea size. It's one of those that leaves the skin squeaky clean, so can feel a bit drying, but I feel it cleanses very well.

Like others, I was really pleased to see a decent sample size of this cleanser in the recent GWP edit. I love Chantecaille and had wanted to try this foaming cleanser. Unfortunately, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed by it. I found the consistency a little too thick for me. It felt almost too rich and so couldn't wait to remove it. I know I'm rather picky about the feel of some products on my skin due to having a rather oily complexion. That's the beauty of the GWP, you have an opportunity to try something before having to buy a full size. As a cleanser it is OK and does it's job, but due to the feel on my skin, I wouldn't be purchasing. Maybe that's just as well as there are other Chantecaille products I love!
