These really rate more like 4.5 stars, which is not an option. They would have been 5 stars; except for the slippage (read on). It was pouring rain when I needed to dash 10 blocks to a meeting - so I put these on. They are very comfortable for walking, nearly running, right out of the box. I wear a size 4.5 so the 5 is a bit ample anyway; however these will probably require socks (not just tights) when they are broken in, which is okay. (Thanks to Nordstrom, they were available that small!) As with all "duck" shoes, the laces tend to come untied. Not sure how to fix that. They had wonderful traction on regular concrete sidewalks and I felt I could sprint in them. On areas surfaced with granite, they seemed to slip a bit so I treaded gingerly. I bought the ivory and brown. They are adorable and will be especially nice in the spring when we have chilly, wet weather but want to bring out lighter colors.

I bought these in black on black They are so good looking HOWEVER, they run short. I wear a 10 always and that is what I ordered. My toes rub the end and sides. I would love to have them a half size bigger but sadly they are not available. I will be returning these and continuing the search.

Love these shoes. Very stylish and practicle. They look great yet they are waterproof and warm and comfy. I bought the black patent leather.
