I finally had to get a pair of Sorels.
I was tired of walking my dogs through snow banks or snow blowing the driveway and ending up with wet jeans and cold feet. All of the other boots I have tried just don't cut it when you have to deal with the aftermath of a winter's worth of noreaster snow storms.
These Sorels are built like a tank; they give you ultimate protection from the elements, but don't expect them to function like a flexible sneaker or boat shoe, walking in them is kind of like walking in ski boots. I like the removeable liner, it provides comfort and warmth and helps with a better fit even with thick socks becuase you are not sliding around inside a tall boot.
I wish I had bought a pair fifteen years ago when I moved to the east coast. I expect these boots to last forever, they are classics!

I saw some of the negative reviews here and I can’t believe them. I bought these about 4 years ago and never snowed until this feb in Texas. I was out in the morning doing maintenance in my home at 2am 4 am and 6 am and I never felt my feet cold. For me it was it’s usefulness through some work I had to do keeping my pipes and pool from freezing outside . I can’t give them enough stars . I just bought another set for my son and daughter so yeah that’s what I think about sorel. I was in sub 0 F with these boots so I can tell you they work.

Not warm not waterproof

This pair of boots is not waterproof at all and my feet freeze in them.
I recently bought a new pair of Caribou boots (my old ones lasted for almost 20 years!!). I bought the same size and so far they are much narrower than my old pair. I hope they break-in with more use.
