This is the first time I have purchased mascara from Chanel and I was not disappointed. My mother-in-law has always sworn by her Chanel make-up and now I understand why! This is a great day-to-night mascara that does not flake and offers good overall coverage, lift and volume. I only apply one coat because I am not great at wearing mascara, but I use the black color and it does the trick just fine. I will say this is a bit harder to remove than the Sephora house brand I had been using and preferred -- but it also stays on better, so I am willing to use a little more make-up remover to get it off. I debated among the other Chanel mascara offerings but think this is the best all-around if you don't want to bother with an eyelash curler, primer, etc. As with the lipstick, Chanel does a lovely job packaging their product and this tube is a nice heavy weight to hold in your hand.
This is a fabulous mascara! The color is subtle, but substantive in direct light. I wear it almost every day. My only suggestion is that the color be made in Chanel Volumizing Mascara, which goes on a bit thicker and is waterproof.
