I really like the look of these boots but the fit was impossible I have a large and step in these boots just would not fit my foot and I tried several pairs. Leather is extremely hard and shoes look like they would take a long time to break in. I bought the Cole Hahn chukka boots from Nordstrom’s and had much better results at a fraction of the price
Shoes fit great but will require a decent amount of breaking in until they're soft enough for comfort. slightly snug around my instep but i think it should stretch out nicely. no noticeable heel slip
Would have been 5 stars but red wing's QC is severely lacking. The first pair I had had super loose grain right on the crease of the left shoe and some stitching issues on the heel of the right. The second shoe had incredibly loose grain on one tongue (which is fine) but the other tongue looked like it was mangled with a piece missing from the front. I considered exchanging the final pair, but the loose/grain is off to the side and barely noticeable, everything else is basically perfect. I understand that handmade shoes will have some quirks, but compared to my blacksmiths (which were fine from the start) this model feels like swimming through seconds quality.
These are the perfect boot for people in construction but who aren't actual construction workers. I got these for my boyfriend who only has to visit the jobsite a couple times a month. They are light weight compared to normal construction boots but they are also nice enough for meetings with the client.
Bought these boots for my son in law for his birthday. He needs sturdy shoes for work that are also stylish as he is the president of a division of a construction company. He has tried others that are not as expensive and they wear out within a year so I splurged and bought him these. He loves them and they fit the bill!
