If you're like me, you look for quality, versatility and aesthetics in your footwear. This Beckman Boot offers them all.
Before I purchased my Beckman's, I researched and tried on boots for months. Once I tried on the Beckman's, I instantly knew this was my boot. They can be worn with jeans and a T-shirt or dress shirt (my favorite look), slacks and a button down, or even with some suits, depending on the pant cut and color. Additionally, I've worn them in the mountains, in various inclinations, and in cold weather (rain and snow). The tread on this boot handles all terrain well. If you notice the Alden Indy Boot or the Wolverine 1,000 (both are certainly handsome and made with quality material and craftsmanship), the bottom of the sole isn't suited for slick, icy, or inclined surfaces, as there's no tread (unless you add it); it's just leather. Additionally, both the Alden and Wolverine boots have a more refined look, which is great for dressing up, but not ideal for dressing down to jeans and T-shirt. This is not the case with the Beckman's. They are versatile - both in look and function. I have had mine for three years, and they have shown little sign of wear. I can easily see these boots lasting me another 4-6 years without having to be re-soled. As far as the life of the boot, I speculate they may last up to 15-20 years, maybe more. It seems research paid off.
The last thing I will mention is Red Wing's unrivaled customer service. All three cities in which I've the lived were 20 minutes or less from a Red Wing Shoe Store. Currently, I am only 10 minutes away from one. Here's the best part: If you own a pair of Red Wing boots/shoes, any Red Wing Store will give you free laces (for life), free cleaning service and free maintenance; they clearly back and believe in their products. You even have access to all of these resources if you bought your boots online from Nordstrom.com. I have utilized all of these services with great satisfaction. I have added quick hooks (A.K.A speed hooks), had them cleaned and received laces, all for free. Their service is truly remarkable.
All things considered, if you buy the Red Wing Beckman Boot, you are getting top notch quality, versatility and, of course, aesthetics. In addition, you have the convenience of the Red Wing Shoe Stores (for most people in most locations) that will help with your boot care, answer questions and provide a great service. The story behind the boot is almost as unique and beckoning as the Beckman Boot itself (look into it). You will be satisfied with these boots.
Size down (a half to full size), break them in (about 3-6 weeks) and enjoy.

Love these boots! They take a little bit to break in but are super comfortable afterwards and last a long time,
Very well made constructed boots. The leather looks beautiful right outside the box and is high quality. These should last a long time with proper care.
They run pretty big and the break in process takes a bit of time (2 weeks) but overall very happy with this purchase.
